Vehicle fire determined to be set intentionally

WEST RUTLAND - On Monday, July 1, at approximately 4:15 a.m., the West Rutland Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at 435 Pleasant Street in West Rutland. The fire was eventually extinguished but not before the vehicle and contents were destroyed.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The West Rutland Fire Department contacted the Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit. Detectives from the unit, as well as an accelerant detection K9 were assigned the investigation. Subsequent investigation revealed the fire was intentionally set.
