Fair Haven youth charged with lewd and lascivious conduct with a child and luring a child

FAIR HAVEN-On April 8, 2013 the Vermont State Police Special Investigation Unit in Rutland arrested Brandon Ellis, age 18 of Fair Haven, Vt. for lewd and lascivious conduct with a child and luring a child.

The juvenile victim, age 13, reported when she was 11 years-old Ellis exposed himself and tried to entice her to engage in a sexual act. At the completion of the investigation, Ellis was arrested on said charges and scheduled to appear in Rutland District Court on May 6, 2013.

Ellis is on court conditions of release for pending sex offenses that occurred during the same time period.

Lewd and Lascivious Conduct with a child holds a maximum penalty of 15 years and a $5,000 fine. Luring a Child holds a maximum penalty of 5 years and a $10,000 fine.

The Rutland Unit for Special Investigations is a multidisciplinary team that investigates, prosecutes and serves the needs of victims of crimes involving sexual exploitation of children and adults, also physical abuse of children and vulnerable adults.
