On Dec. 5, 2012, at approximately 12:14 p.m., Vermont State
Police responded to a one vehicle crash near residence 4635 Cold
River Rd in Shrewsbury, Vt.
Upon the arrival of State Police, the occupants, Samantha Didio,
age 24, and her mother, Karen Didio, were being extricated from
within their 2009 Pontiac Vibe. Both were immediately transported
to Rutland Regional Medical Center for urgent care. Karen was later
transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in critical but

the operator, Samantha, lost control of the vehicle and crashed
head on into a tree. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor.
Conditions were wet and overcast. Samantha was wearing her
seatbelt.
The Shrewsbury Fire Department and Rutland Regional Ambulance
Service assisted at the crash scene.
