Killington Music Festival presents KMF Chamber Orchestra with Simon Ghraichy

Saturday, July 2 at 7 p.m — KILLINGTON — On July 2 at 7 p.m. the Killington Music Festival’s Chamber Orchestra pays tribute to Maestro Joseph Silverstein with a challenging performance to maximize the audience’s entertainment. Artistic Director Daniel Andai conducts the orchestra while performing as solo violinist with guest pianist Simon Ghraichy in Mendelssohn’s rarely played “Concerto in D Minor” for violin and piano.

Simon Ghraichy, who has been called a “world-class musician” by NBC and “the piano classical rock-star” by Quien Mag, is a 30 year old Lebanese-Mexican pianist who has lived and studied in Europe. Ghraichy has been performing recitals, chamber music concerts and as a soloist all over the world. He recently released his second CD, “Duels,” and is sponsored by AXA Insurance and the Luc Walter Foundation.

Daniel Andai, KMF’s artistic director, has been hailed by the New York Times as an “exemplary leader” for leading members of the New York Philharmonic and Manhattan School of Music in Carnegie Hall. He has shared his versatile artistry as a soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, concertmaster and recording artist in major concert venues across five continents.
