Gala event to benefit victims of domestic violence

Saturday, Aug. 13, at 4 p.m.—LUDLOW—Chrisandra’s Interiors is planning a gala charity event Aug. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Chrisandra’s Retail Store, 122 Main St. in Ludlow, to benefit the Women’s Freedom Center (WFC) serving southern Windsor and Windham counties.
The goal is to raise money through the sale of raffle tickets to help the WFC provide much needed services and programs for victims of domestic violence. Chrisandra’s will be putting together a variety of items and offers into a big pot for the raffle drawing.
Additionally, some local  business friends are going to help make it a night filled with generosity, fun, food, fortune telling, music and a great shopping experience. They include Chaos Casbah; Mojo’s Café; Mt. Cycology–Cyco Bike Shop; IAVE Audio Visual; Gallery on the Green (Woodstock); Hunter Douglas Blinds; Two-Day Design; Miles Talbott Furniture; and Strictly Vermont Candles. Raffle tickets may be purchased at any of the just-mentioned participating businesses.
Chrisandra’s also hopes to collect donations of furniture and other household goods and accessories as well as clothing and food to help people begin a new life free from physical, verbal and mental abuse. Chrisandra’s will be the collection point for all donations and is offering a one-time 10 percent discount off the total sale of store merchandise for guests that donate household items to the WFC.
