United Way Day kicks off holiday weekend at Killington Resort

Friday, July 3 — KILLINGTON — Killington Resort, a four season destination, kicked off its 2015 summer season on Friday, June 26 with a host of new attractions at the Snowshed Adventure Center, ranging from Segway tours to a four-story ropes course, complemented by tried-and-true summer alpine activities like hiking, mountain biking and disc golf.

On Friday, July 3, Killington will host its 10th Annual United Way Day to kick off this holiday weekend. The United Way of Rutland County will receive a $10 donation from the sale of every Adventure Center Pass, round of golf and mountain bike rental. Free add-ons will also be included with purchases on United Way Day. Adventure Center Passes will receive a complementary round-trip ride on the K-1 Express Gondola ($15 value), and mountain bike rentals will receive free trail and lift access ($49 value).

“For the tenth consecutive year we are marking the start of summer at Killington with a benefit for the United Way of Rutland County, and by moving this year’s effort from opening day to a holiday weekend, we hope to surpass all previous fundraising totals,” says Rob Megnin, Killington’s director of sales and marketing. “Killington makes an effort to support our community all year, and we encourage our guests to make a donation and take advantage of a day filled summer adventures or a relaxing day of golf.”

Killington will also donate $10 from every Summer Season Pass purchased on Friday, July 3 to the United Way of Rutland County. Disc Golf Season Passes are $59, K-1 Scenic Gondola Passes are $49, Mountain Bike Season Passes are $189, and Killington Golf Course Memberships are $399 for adults and $159 for ages 29 and under.

“United Way of Rutland County really appreciates the continued support that we receive from Killington Resort and its patrons. We love it when local businesses come up with fun ways for people to support United Way’s campaign,” says Nanci Gordon, executive director of the United Way of Rutland County. “If you participate in Killington Resort’s United Way Day on July 3, you’re not only guaranteed a good time as part of your holiday weekend, you are investing in local health, education and income stability efforts throughout Rutland County. It’s a total win-win…win!”
