Rutland Rotary Club challenges members to ‘Perkins Pick-up”

The Rutland Rotary club lives by the motto “service above self” and is continuing to make efforts to support the community in the face of Covid-19. Recently, Rotarians Chuck Rose and Bob Amelang helped turn 600 pounds of ground beef into Salisbury Steak for Meals on Wheels. And another of their objectives is the clean up Rutland.

“With the official date of Green Up day being up in the air, our Rotary club has decided to use our extra free time for something we’re calling the ‘Perkins Pick-up.’” the club posted on its Facebook page. “Our challenge over the next month is to have each Rotarian clean up a bag’s worth of garbage from the side of the road, and then post a picture.”

Of course, you do not need to be a Rotarian to join in the challenge! Anyone can help clean up trash. However, if you are interested in joining the organization, you can learn more at my.rotary.org/en/learning-reference/learn-role/new-member.
