Energy is subject of Chaffee’s annual student art exhibit

Friday, April 1 at 4 p.m. — RUTLAND — Chaffee Art Center announces the opening of its Annual Student Art Exhibit entitled “Energy” on April 1. Our area is full of energy—social, sustainable, nutritional, physical, and more. Energy is all around us and we are eager to have the energy of our area youth’s creativity adorn the walls of our historic art center.

“Energy” will feature the artwork of grade K-12 students from over a dozen area schools. This fantastic event is perfect for the entire family to come and enjoy. Each gallery will explode with creative energy.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 1 at the Chaffee Art Center, 16 South Main Street, Rutland from 4 to 7 p.m. The reception will feature treats, raffles, art activities, and more.

The Chaffee Art Center’s mission is to nurture the essential relationship between the arts and the community. It is important that this relationship with the arts be fostered in our youth, and in celebration of this, Chaffee will open its classrooms during the annual student art exhibit with free art activities during gallery hours.

2016 is the Chaffee’s 55th year of providing Rutland County with visual art. They are very proud of the positives that they add to the community and welcome the public to join them to experience the talent of local youth.

The Chaffee Art Center is open Wednesday through Friday, noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. The gallery is free and open to the public, chaffeeartcenter.org.
