Downtown Rutland rings in the holidays

Tuesday, Dec. 2 — RUTLAND — Enter December, and Downtown Rutland is ready for the holiday season. On Tuesday, Dec. 2, head to Depot Park for Santa’s arrival and the official lighting of the Christmas tree at 6:30 p.m. Celebrate with Christmas carols led by local choral groups, hot chocolate, goodies and more!

Then, follow Santa to the Paramount Theatre for the chance to sit on his lap, and stick around for a double movie feature at 7 p.m. – “Frosty the Snowman” and “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” It’s a night the whole family will enjoy.

The evening’s events are free and open to all.

The Downtown Holiday Movie Series at the Paramount Theatre begins Dec. 2, and continues showing holiday classics through the month of December: Dec. 9, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”; Dec. 23, “Home Alone”; and Dec. 30, “Ice Age.” The movies are shown on the big screen at Paramount free of charge. The doors are open to everyone, so stop in and see your favorites like never before.
