Cobra Gymnastics starts meet season

As the days get darker and the heater begins to purr, the Cobra Gymnastics Team readies for its the competitive season.  With 58 girls  participating, the team will compete under USA Gymnastics rules in both the Junior Olympic and Xcel Programs.
In her fifth year of hosting a competitive team and seventh year in business, owner and head coach Shelby Collet is excited for the start of meet season. After its recent trip to the Olympic Training Center in Texas, the team has applied new training techniques, choreography and skills to its routines.
Starting out the season in White River Junction at the Harvest Classic, the girls showed their originality, determination and team spirit.
“The first meet provides us with a baseline for the rest of the season,” Collet said. “We are able to see how the judges react to the new routines and new skills and of course, how the girls will respond to the pressure of performing,” she said. “As any meet goes, the girls didn’t leave without a few bobbles, but that’s why we call it a season of competition; there is room to grow and truly find their best selves inside of the routines.”
