The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) recently appointed EMT Christian Ventura as its new state advocacy coordinator for Vermont. The advocacy coordinator is tasked with supporting EMTs, paramedics, and other prehospital providers in the Green Mountain State through grassroots legislative efforts by communicating with senators and house representatives, supporting participation in national EMS advocacy initiatives, and updating Vermont NAEMT members on the status of pending legislation that affect their role as a prehospital professional.
Christian Ventura, NREMT, EMS-I, FHAMES is an EMS provider, lecturer/instructor, and published researcher with an academic background in Neuroscience and Chemistry. He currently serves as the chairman of the Board of the Health Advocacy and Medical Exploration Society, Inc., on the education subcommittee of the Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) committee, and as the former Advocacy Chair of the American Heart Association ECC Committee Founders affiliate. Christian has been involved in local, state, and national grassroots advocacy efforts for public health related legislation, and received the Heartsaver Hero Award in 2018. In 2020, Christian served as principal investigator for multiple studies investigating EMS pandemic response to Covid-19 in the United States. He is currently the lead author of “The Emergency Medical Responder” by Springer Nature. You’ll probably find Christian either cooking, teaching, watching political dramas on Netflix, or all of the above!
