Chaffee Art Center hosts reception for new exhibit

Friday, Aug. 19 at 5 p.m.—RUTLAND—The Chaffee Art Center will host a reception on Friday, Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. for its 2016 juried artist members’ showcase, “Effervescence,” which opened on Aug. 6 in conjunction with the Art in the Park festival. Featuring 26 artists of different mediums, styles, and methods, this exhibit will showcase the vivacity and enthusiasm of each artist while collectively speaking to the effervescence of art. From knot wood and raku to anime style illustration, landscape photography to abstract collage, this dynamic and diverse show is sure to delight, provoke, and inspire everyone

“Effervescence” will be on display at the Chaffee Art Center, 16 South Main Street, Rutland, from Aug. 6 to Sept. 24. The gallery is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

The artists exhibiting are as follows: Yoshi Aday, Denise Letendre Bach, Ruth Ann Barker, Jeffery Braxton, Sue Carey, Mary Crowley, Rosalind Daniels, Steve Halford, Christine Holzschuh, Robert Hooker, Mark Horwedel, Sally Keefe, Lowell Klock, Melissa Kristiansen, Jean T. Kroeber, Dave Kutchkian, Jon Levine, Mary Fran Lloyd, Ann McFarren, Mareva Millarc, Don Ramey, Karen Seward, Renee Warren, Richard Weis, and Kathryn Palmer Wiegers.

As a community art center, the Chaffee is free and open to the public. Donations and sponsorships help support our mission to nurture the essential relationship between the arts and our community through education, exhibition and collaboration.
