Wednesday, April 20 at 7 p.m. — CASTLETON — Castleton University presents an evening with jazz legend Bobby Gosh as he kicks off his book tour for “Confessions of a Marijuana Eater: A Song Writer’s Memoir” at the Casella Theater on Wednesday, April 20 at 7 p.m. Part concert, part book reading, this event promises to be entertaining as well as thought provoking.

Musician Bobby Gosh is a Grammy Award and Gold Record winning singer songwriter, arranger, producer, and bandleader. Over his long career Gosh has worked with many of the giants of the music and movie industries, including Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, Paul Anka, Diannah Carrol, Dr. John, Ray Price, Jack Jones, Englebert Humperdinck, Gordon MacRae and countless other musicians, producers, and actors. His songs have been featured in the movie “Big” with Tom Hanks, Woody Allen’s “Mighty Aphrodite,” and “Happily Ever After” starring Suzanne Somers. He has composed, produced and sung on over 200 national radio and television commercials and has written many children’s songs for entertainment shows around the world.

Between his travel and touring Gosh has been a long-time resident of Vermont, where, at the age of 80, he continues to produce, write and record film music, commercial jingles, and popular songs.

This spring Bobby will be coming out with his autobiography, “Confessions of a Marijuana Eater: A Song Writers Memoir.” A life-long marijuana user (eater, to be specific), Gosh is a proponent both of the legalization of marijuana and its therapeutic effects. Seated at the university’s beautiful grand piano, he will perform some of his hit songs and speak of his charmed musical life and the role marijuana has played in it. At the conclusion of the event, there will be a book release party and signing with the author in the lobby of the Casella Theater.

Admission is free and all seating is general admission. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call the box office at 802-468-1119.
