Brandon names new selectman

Tim Guiles defeated Dennis Reisenweaver for an open three-year select board seat in Brandon on Tuesday.

Guiles won in an Australian ballot vote 400-242.

Voters re-elected incumbents Brian Coolidge and chair Seth Hopkins to one year terms on the elect board.

All articles also passed in Brandon.

Voters approved a $2.6 million budget to be raised by taxes in a 449-250 vote.

Voters also approved a $50,000 expense for road paving in a 547-152 vote and decided to appropriate $92,000 to the Brandon Free Public Library in a 505-195 vote.
