Boot campers invite all to run for breast cancer awareness

Sunday, Sept. 27 at 12 p.m.—KILLINGTON—Run or walk in the second annual scenic Boot Campers Against Breast Cancer 5K fundraiser in Killington, during peak foliage, on Sunday, Sept. 27 at the Johnson Recreation Center. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m.; race starts at the “crack of noon.” Early bird registration is $30, ending Sept. 26; register the weekend of the event for $35. Kids ages 14 and under are $10. The flat and fast course starts winds along River Road and ends at the Recreation Center. Additional events at the race include Kid’s Boot Camp, Caitlin Reid Yoga, DJ Dave, face painting and massage.

Charity’s Tavern is hosting the post race benefit from 4-7 p.m., featuring a barbecue, games, raffles and a silent auction, plus a cash bar. Enjoy live music by Chad Hollister, Andy Lugo, Joey Leone, Duane Carleton, and Rick and Heather. Charity’s is located at 2194 Killington Road. The post race party is free with race registration; $20 for guests, $10 for kids.

Participants should park at Sherburne Memorial Library, 2998 River Road. It is a short walk to the race venue.
