A night of your grandfather’s bluegrass and country to be heard in Granville

Saturday, June 25 at 7 p.m. — GRANVILLE, N.Y. — The Slate Valley Museum invites offers a night of bluegrass and old time country by the popular local band, Northern Homespun.
The museum opened its exhibit, “A New Deal for the Hills and Valleys,” on May 6. This exhibit explores the reality of FDR’s New Deal throughout the Slate Valley. On the spirit of this exhibit the museum is hosting a night of music similar to what you might have heard if you lived during the Great Depression and New Deal era. Bluegrass and country were genres of music that were becoming popular in those decades.
Northern Homespun is a string band based in Poultney, playing Americana music featuring rich vocal harmonies and a down-home feel.
The cost is $10. For info, visit slatevalleymuseum.org or call 518-642-1417.
Slate Valley Museum is located at 17 Water Street, Granville, N.Y.
