Billings Farm & Museum opens for 34th season

Saturday, April 30 at 10 a.m. — WOODSTOCK — Billings Farm & Museum, gateway to Vermont’s rural heritage, will open for its 34th season on Saturday, April 30. This event will feature horse-drawn wagon rides, free ice cream, and educational farm programs, as well as access to the operating dairy farm, restored 1890 Farm House, and farm life exhibits.

Suitable for all ages, Billings Farm offers a unique way for families to learn more about where food comes from and Vermont’s rural heritage, while spending time with the award-winning herd of Jersey milking cows and other livestock. Open daily through Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Billings Farm is a premiere dairy farm with a 144-year tradition of agricultural excellence and ingenuity.

Visitors can explore extensive historical exhibits and the restored and furnished 1890 Farm House to learn more about the early days of the Billings Farm. Watch the daily afternoon milking of the Jersey herd beginning at 2:45 p.m., or enjoy wagon rides around our property in the company of our Percheron and Belgian draft horses. Jersey calves are born throughout the year (call ahead to see if there are any new arrivals), and there is fresh Billings Farm cheese to sample in the gift shop.
