Welsh Presbyterian Church in Poultney welcomes the Reverend Lee Smith

By Janice B. Edwards

The Reverend Lee and Mrs. Nancy Smith were recently welcomed to the Welsh Presbyterian Church in Poultney. Reverend Smith, an ordained nursing home chaplain who served in the Boston region for many years, is also an historic preservation representative and retired executive director of Peniel Bible Conference, Lake Luzerne, New York.

The pastor and his wife reside in New York State in a slate valley community. Reverend Smith said the vision of Welsh Presbyterian Church includes outreach to the region’s homebound citizens and their caretakers.

Welsh Presbyterian Church’s Session and congregation are developing plans for the restoration needs of its historic Grove Street structure. A top priority for them is to make this historic chapel, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, a handicapped-accessible site.

Welsh Presbyterian Church’s worship services are held Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. in its Grove Street sanctuary. For more information contact Pastor Smith at 518-791-3683.
